Benchline theme documentation

Theme styles and presets

Benchline includes four theme styles. A style is a complete starting configuration for one kind of parts store: palette and heading type, yes, but also which field leads the finder, which columns lead the results table, which group leads the datasheet, and how the cart groups its lines. Styles exist so a plumbing store and an electrical store do not have to rebuild the same architecture by hand.

Apply a style

  1. In the theme editor, open Theme settings.
  2. Open Theme style and choose Change style.
  3. Pick a style and save.

Applying a style replaces your current theme settings (colors, fonts, finder switches, cart grouping) with the style values. Duplicate your theme first if you want to keep the settings you have.

What every style shares

All four styles run the same sections, the same specification record, the same three fit states, and the same finder mechanics. A product catalog built for one style works in all four with no data changes. Switching styles never touches your product data, your collections, or your Search and Discovery filters.

Benchline (hardware)

The parent style, for hardware and DIY stores with broad catalogs.

Driveline (machine and auto parts)

For stores where the first question is which machine the part must fit.

See Cart, projects, and machines for how the machine name reaches the cart.

Flowline (plumbing)

For stores where the primary dimension decides whether a part can be used at all.

Voltline (electrical)

For stores where ratings and certification decide whether a part is safe to install.

Change a style after applying it

Every value a style sets is an ordinary theme setting afterwards. If you like Driveline but want project grouping in the cart instead of machine grouping, apply Driveline, then change Group cart lines by back to Project. The styles are starting points, not locks. The two finder switches the styles use live under Theme settings, then Project finder: Show machine field in the project finder, and Show the dimension step as visual size discs.
